Growing minerals experiment
First we mixed 6.7 fl Oz of water with Chrystal compound (monoammonium phosphate). We allowed the solution to cool while we assembled our Chrystal tree.
Then we placed the glow in the dark moon base into the square container and covered the moon with the warm solution. Next we placed the tub on top of the refrigerator ( the moon Chrystal cluster needs to be above 20 degrees to grow properly.)
For the aqua marine Crystals we poured our Chrystal solution into our hexagonal container, next we added the blue seeding mixture, mum stirred the mixture before reading that you aren't supposed to, so it will be interesting to see what the final results are like.
For the last experiment we placed the tree into the hexagonal dish and poured in the remaining solution. As an added quirk we decided to add some of the blue solution.
The tree contains tiny fibres within the paper, the saturated solution will slowly creek up these fibres into the paper, this is known as capillary action. (trees and plants draw water and nutrients up from the soil in the same way.) When the water evaporates the small particles dissolved in the water will join together again, forming crystals.
